Paper folding fun

Paper folding can be fun.Your fingers become strong as you manuplate paper

to make different shapes.This art is called origami.

Today we are going to learn the simplest folds just folding backwards and

forwards making a fan and then make  different things with the folded paper fan.

Things needed:

1.  Long sheet of chart paper.You can use news paper ,used A4 size paper.

2.  Pencil,felt pens ,paints, any other material to decorate.

3.  Glue,and some wool or twinke

4.  Thinner paper for the masks.

Now just look at the pictures and follow.You can use these things to decorate

your room or classroom and make your teacher happy.

Life’s Daily Lessons

Today i read something every thought provoking in the paper ,so i thought i

should share it with you:-

Remember:-

.  Learn from one and all.-Learning has no limits.We are born to learn from

everyone in our lives-parents ,adults ,children,our maids and helpers even

our pets.

.  Everybody knows something.-Nobody knows everything but everybody

knows something.We should cultivate a habit to learn from everybody and

add value to our lives.To this i would add…Our dog nikki when given any

thing to eat will always sit down and enjoy her food,unlike many of us

who do ultitasking while eating.I have learnt to sit and enjoy my meals.

.  Just like i wrote above ….. Keep your learning options open.-There are

opportunities galore,only if one keeps learning options open  and is ready

to learn or at least try.

These are your PEARLS OF WISDOM. never feel proud or feel small learning

something good from any one.

Chocolate Balls

Hi mums,

Today i am starting a new column.”Recipes”.

Growing up nowadays is not an easy task.With new inventions, researches

and new technologies we like our kids to become little Einstein.-and why not..?

I once had a mum of a little girl who came for the parent\teacher meeting and

said,”ma’am i’d like to tell you something-my little girl is an Einstein.She can

operate all the gizmos i have.”may be she was right.But you know what

the little girl liked to do the most ……she liked to run around ,play,listen to

stories.What i am trying to tell you is let your children grow up by exploring

and experiencing things around them. Let their  childhood be fun and messy-

that doesn’t mean you don’t discipline them.Be there for them.Give them a good

family environment remember they learn the most from you- not the many

classes they go to.Give them good sanskars-values and make them good

and caring  human beings.Let them enjoy there child hood and learn along .

Cooking is something kids really enjoy.They watch you toss up there favorite

dish in a minute.They love to feel the different textures ,tastes and gadgets.

Cooking classes are becoming a rave.So lets start our own.You must share recipes you have.

This one recipe Chocolate Balls is my favorite. My son made them in school

when he was 5.Its always been a super hit with kids.So try them.12

How to cover your text books

Hello kids,

You must have had a great summer vacation.Now next week its

back to school.Mum must have ordered and got your set of book for the new

year.Excited? I know something really time consuming is getting the books

covered ,sometimes a little boring is’nt it?Now a days one gets brown paper

cut to the size of books with plastic on top and the book shop owner is ready to

cover your books so it is’nt difficult.All you have to do is write your names

class and subject on the label.I have found a very interesting youtube

showing you how to cover a book with a brown paper bag.Try it, you just may

find it fun and you could cover a few books , may be your story books.

Your pearls of wisdom:-

1.   Most important you cover your books to respect your teacher.Remember

always give her\him a clean and neat book.Well covered ,labelled with

a clear index page to make it easy for your teacher.She\he is your guru and you

must respect, help and obey her\him.

2.  You cover books so that you can use them through the year and this

helps mum,she wont have to run around getting new books in mid term.

3.  You cover books for yourself to become responsible ,be organised and

discipline yourself.

Remember you don’t waste time in doing this.You can call friends on a week

end and spend a day together.Try it and share your experience with us.

World Environment Day

Hi kids,

It’s the beginning of June 2014.Your summer vacations are almost over,and  you

all must be busy getting your books and things ready for school.I am sure you all had a wonderful break which like i must have mentioned earlier was well learned.

Some of you must have travelled abroad,or must have gone to visit family.Some must have stayed home and attended summer classes,learning new things and making new

friends.Whatever you did i am sure you enjoyed.What you must remember is

to thank  your parents for all they have done to make sure you had a good time.

Be grateful for all you have. Share your experiences with you friends and remember

-listen to them and be happy for them- dont envy them.

Your Pearls of Wisdom:

1.  Always be Grateful for all you have.

2.  Appreciate others and listen to them and make them happy.

3.  Always remember the magic word Thank You.

Today is the 5th of june….Lets all join hands and celebrate:

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY.

Mahatma Gandhi wrote “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need,

but not every man’s greed”.

This very simply means that the planet called earth on which we live is like

our mother which provides us all we need to live(that is why we call it

Mother Earth.)What do we need to live ?We need water to drink ,air to

breathe and food to eat.So you see kids the earth  just like your mum gives you all these things..Without her

we could’nt survive.And yet we keep mistreating her.Now to reverse this lets

each one of us do our share.Lets first see a few pictures.

Kids  let us all promise to save our mother earth.

Here are our pearls of wisdom:

1.   Each one plant one.( a plant)

2.  Gift a plant.-Flowers look beautiful on plants.

3.  Save water.-you can decide how to do that.-remember dont waste water

in your school bottle.Fill only half the bottle and refill if you need more.

4.  No to plastic.-remind your mum and maid to use a paper or better still

a cloth bag.You can wash and reuse it.

5.  Keep your surrounding clean.-Separate wet and dry waste,

.

6.  Try to reuse things.
