Childres’s Day is observed all over the world on different days.It is a special day to honor children.Can you imagine a world without children. Nothing would be like it is today.

MESSY FINGERS

Sticky fingers,tangled hair.

Scattered crayons everywhere.

Fancy art work on the wall,drawn by midgets 3 feet tall.

Tell me why and tell me now,

That was mine and I want it NOW!

Fix my bike.Buy me gum.

If you have it ,I want some.

Dirty faces ,grass stained knees,

Learning words like pretty please.

Endless hugs and goofy wet kisses,

Learning respect with Mr and Mrs.

Scrapped up hands, from falling down.

Tender tugs– on my night gown.

Need more paper for santa’s letter?

I was’nt so bad,but I’ve been better.

Watching a movie, again and again.

Mummy ,please put the tape back in.

Messy fingers,hair gone wild,

Children’s Day in India is know as “Bal Divas”.It is celebrated each year on the 14th of November which is also Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru’s(our first Prime Minister) birthday.

Nehruji was fond of children and roses.He often compared the two saying that children are like buds in the garden. Nehruji said that’children are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow so they should be carefully and lovingly nutured’

. He felt that the children are the strength of a country and the foundation of society.We lovingly call him Chacha Nehru.This year it is his 125th birthday.

Happy birthday Chacha Nehru and a Very Happy Children’s Day to all you darlings out there.You make us happy and bring a smile to our faces,making life full of exitement and fun.A Big Thank You.

Children’s Day is celebrated as a day of fun and frolic in honor of children.Schools celebrate this day by organizing cultural programmes.Sometimes teachers of the school preform dances ,sing and act for their students,which leaves them delighted. Art competitions are organized.Children are taken out for a picnic or movie.The exiting part in all this is, going with your school gang.

There is something which I have always wondered-What would the children really like to do?Have we ever made an effort to ask them how they would like to celebrate-after all it is there special day. Something to give a thought to!!!

Now as their parent,guide, teacher or friend somethings we can pledge:-

. Love and respect them.

. Be there for them with a guiding hand to support them when they faulter.

. Help them to grow up into good human beings.Teach them to care and share and love and respect all things around them.

. To be grateful and thankful for all they have. Be satisfied and happy for others.

. To live life king size- forgive,forget and move on.

. Save Mother Earth -Go green to give them a better tomorrow.

Well I don’t want you to think I am preaching.We don’t have to make extra effort ,-do whatever we can in our daily life.Begin with Gratitude each morning,children will just follow.

Floating Egg

Hi kids, like I told you earlier- the world is full of magic.Lets have fun with a raw egg .

But make sure mum is around -if the egg falls and breaks,you will have the mess to clear.

Things you will need:-

1. 2 tall glasses 3/4 full of water.

2. 2 raw eggs.

3. Small bowl of salt and a spoon to stir.

Instructions:-

!. Take one glass and slowly drop the egg into it and observe.

You will notice the egg goes down to the bottom of the glass.

2. Now take the second glass of water,and put the salt into it and stir.

3. Slowly drop the egg into the glass and observe.

You will notice the egg now floats.

The first glass has plain water, the second glass has salt water.

This happens because the salt water is denser than the ordinary water .The denser the liquid the easier it is to float.

Density is how close the molecules of a substance are .Dense materials are heavy. Kids you will learn more about density as you grow up.But lets have more fun.

Fill half a glass with salty water and slowly drop in an egg.What happens?You are right the egg floats.Now very gently pour plain water in that glass making sure you dont disturb the salty water.You will notice the egg floating in the middle of the glass.The reason is the same- egg floats in the salty water.Wow! isnt that great.

Glass has salt water below and plain water above.

Wonders of the world.-The Dead Sea in Israel is the lowest and saltiest spot on earth.

You know kids this is really very exiting when you can just float in water with no effort.You can ask mum to tell you more about the dead sea. With so many magical things in the world our ‘ PEARLS OF WISDOM ” Respect all things and save our Mother Earth.Bye till the next magical wonder.

What we have to do is-Forgive and Forget-Many a time we get angry with someone for something they did which we did not like and just keep it in mind.Every time we meet that someone the same thought of anger comes back.Do you know who is the sufferer?- Its YOU.Remember to live in the present and not in the past .Look forward to the future.Learn from your mistakes .Life is too beautiful and short -so forget the past and move on.One door closes only to open another one.

Coconut Ladoos

Cooking can be great fun.It is very relaxing and great to have friends over.Some things to keep in mind :-

1. Always do cooking under the guidance of an adult.

2. Wash your hands before starting.

3. Girls make sure you tie up your hair.

4. Never be in a hurry.Work step by step as directed.

5. Kitchen discipline should be followed strictly- Dont touch the gas..knife and scissors without adult supervision.

6. Try not to waste and remember to clear up.

It would be a good idea to keep or rather make your personal recipe book.Lets start!!!

Coconut ladoos…………

Ingredients( things you need):-Gas stove,a non stick pan,laddle to stir.Paper cake cups and a plate to serve.

1. 1 tin of condensed milk.

2. 31/2 cups of desiccated coconut powder.

3. Small bowl of chopped dry fruits. Chopped dry fruits

Method:- You will need mummy’s help.

1.Put aside a small bowl of coconut.

2.Add the remaining coconut in a pan on slow heat.Slowly add the condensed milk,stirring all the while.

3.Stop pouring the condensed milk when a dough forms.Stir on the flame till the mixture leaves the side of the pan.Add the dry fruits ,and let to cool.

4.Butter your hands and roll into small balls(ladoos).

5.Now roll the ladoo in the dry coconut and garnish.

6.Put in a plate and serve. YUMMY -YUMMY Enjoy with your family and friends.

Reduce,Reuse,Recycle

Art and Craft describes a variety of activities involving making things with hands.The art and craft peroid in class is most enjoyed by kids.For some it is a class to show their creative skills .For some it is a free peroid just to mess around and have fun.The out come or products made are often hang up around the class to make the class colourful and bright.

Today i am going to show you somethings which you can make with old CDs and their boxes.

Things needed:-Old CDs. CD boxes.

. Scissors ,glue.paints and crayons.

. Scrap material, kite and crepe paper to decorate.

. String, Ribbon, Bits of card board.

Things you can make:-

. Picture frames

. Aquariam

. Napkin holder

. Painting frame……….. These are just a few ideas.Look at the pictures and try.You can take the idea and be inovative .Remember to reuse old material.Have fun.Like i say always ,double your fun – invite your friends to spend a day and together make things related to class topics or things to decorate your room.You can make a gift for your teacher,friends,parents.

Coasters for your mummy

Animal faces…………………. Rangoli.You can draw a scene and make a picture to hang.

Stars for xmas tree paint them .

Aquarium with the CDbox.You can take a single box open , paint blue for the water .Cut and decorate fish and stick in the blue water,Close the box and hang it.
