Take More Risks

Every Sunday there is supplement in the Times of India called the ‘Speaking Tree’. I am sure many of you must have seen or read it.I for one really like to go through the supplement.Sometimes the articles are worth reading.Today there is one by Robin Sharma-I love to read what he writes.

This is by him.  -To live your life to the fullest,start taking more risks and doing the things that you fear.The real secret of life is to start spending your time pursuing opportunity.Life is all about choices. You can choose to spend your days sitting on the shore of life  in complete safety ,or ,you can take some chances,dive deep into the water and discover the pearls that lie waiting for the person of true courage.

Isn’t this completely true.It is simpler to walk on trodden path than to take the unknown path. Remember on the other side of fear lies freedom.You just have to stay focused  on your goal. This is what we have to teach our children. Never  ever say NO. If we don’t try how will we ever know what the result would be.Remember -failure is nothing more than learning how to win.The path may be risky,but,that’s where all the fruit is.

So my dear children ‘try, try and try’ -never give up.If you don’t try the unknown you will never know whats on the other side….Your PEARLS OF WISDOM -to live life to the fullest.

Dear parents you have to guide your children . Always be there for them if they faulter on the way.

Experience Gravity Free Water

What is gravity?

Gravity is a force pulling together all matter. Anything thrown up will fall down because of the gravitational pull. I have posted an experiment on gravity earlier in this section,may be you like to read it and do the experiment again.

Now for some super magic.- Before we start make sure you have an adult with you and do the experiment over a bucket or basin to avoid spilling water.

Things needed:-                                                                   glass cardb

1. A glass filled right to the top with water.

2. A square  piece of hard card board.

Instructions:-

1. Hold the glass in one hand and put the card board over the mouth of the glass.Make sure no air bubbles enter the glass(.Water should fill the glass to avoid bubbles.)

2. Hold the card board tight on the glass with the other hand and quickly turn the glass upside down.

3. Slowly remove your hand and observe.

What will happen:-

The water will defy gravity and stay in the glass.This happens as there is no air in the glass,and the air pressure from the outside of the glass is greater than the pressure of the water inside the glass.This keeps the card board in place and water from falling.

Wow, was’nt that fun? Show your friends this magic next time you meet.

Children’s Day 2014..

Childres’s Day is observed all over the world on different days.It is a special day to honor children.Can you imagine a world without children. Nothing would be like it is today.

MESSY FINGERS

Sticky fingers,tangled hair.

Scattered crayons everywhere.

Fancy art work on the wall,drawn by midgets 3 feet tall.

Tell me why and tell me now,

That was mine and I want it NOW!

Fix my bike.Buy me gum.

If you have it ,I want some.

Dirty faces ,grass stained knees,

Learning words like pretty please.

Endless hugs and goofy wet kisses,

Learning respect with Mr and Mrs.

Scrapped up hands, from falling down.

Tender tugs– on my night gown.

Need more paper for santa’s letter?

I was’nt so bad,but I’ve been better.

Watching a movie, again and again.

Mummy ,please put the tape back in.

Messy fingers,hair gone wild,

Children’s Day in India is know as “Bal Divas”.It is celebrated each year on the 14th of November which is also Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru’s(our first Prime Minister) birthday.

Nehruji was fond of children and roses.He often compared the two saying that children are like buds in the garden. Nehruji said that’children are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow so they should be carefully and lovingly nutured’

 

 

. He felt that the children are the strength of a country and the foundation of society.We lovingly call him Chacha Nehru.This year it is his 125th birthday.

Happy birthday Chacha Nehru and a Very Happy Children’s Day to all you darlings out there.You make us happy and bring a smile to our faces,making life full of exitement and fun.A Big Thank You.

Children’s Day is celebrated as a day of fun and frolic in honor of children.Schools celebrate this day by organizing cultural programmes.Sometimes teachers of the school preform dances ,sing and act for their students,which leaves them delighted. Art competitions are organized.Children are taken out for a picnic or movie.The exiting part in all this is, going with your school gang.

There is something  which  I have always wondered-What would the children really like to do?Have we ever made an effort to ask them how they would like to celebrate-after all it is there special day. Something to give a thought to!!!

Now as their parent,guide, teacher or friend somethings we can pledge:-

. Love and respect them.

. Be there for them with a guiding hand to support them when they faulter.

. Help them to grow up into good human beings.Teach them to care and share and love and respect all things around them.

. To be grateful and thankful for all they have. Be satisfied and happy for others.

. To live life king size- forgive,forget and move on.

. Save Mother Earth -Go green to give them a better tomorrow.

Well I don’t want you to think I am preaching.We don’t have to make extra effort ,-do whatever we can in our daily life.Begin with Gratitude each morning,children will just follow.

Floating Egg

Hi kids, like I told you earlier- the world is full of magic.Lets have fun with a raw egg .

But make sure mum is around -if the egg falls and breaks,you will have the mess to clear.

Things you will need:-                                                 salt

1. 2 tall glasses 3/4 full of water.

2. 2 raw eggs.

3. Small bowl of salt and a spoon to stir.

Instructions:-

!. Take one glass and slowly drop the egg into it and observe.

You will notice the egg goes down to the bottom of the glass.

2. Now take the second glass of water,and put the salt into it and stir.

3. Slowly drop the egg into the glass and observe.

You will notice the egg now floats.

glass1 The first glass has plain water, the second glass has salt water.

This happens because the salt water is denser than the ordinary water .The denser the liquid the easier it is to float.

Density is how close the molecules of a substance are .Dense materials are heavy. Kids you will learn more about density as you grow up.But lets have more fun.

Fill half a glass with salty water and slowly drop in an egg.What happens?You are right the egg floats.Now very gently pour plain water in that glass making sure you dont disturb the salty water.You will notice the egg floating in the middle of the glass.The reason is the same- egg floats in the salty water.Wow! isnt that great.
